Meet one of our newest gems, courtesy of Dulce Misterio - Sweet Mystery! Muricio Duque, once a conventional coffee exporter, pivoted to his lifelong dream of producing exceptional Colombian specialty coffee after his business closed during the pandemic.
In 2019, he acquired a 13-hectare farm near Neira, Caldas, known for its unique soil and elevation (1850m to 2040m). This area yields coffee with naturally sweeter characteristics, confirmed by historical competition data.
Mauricio emphasizes sustainability and quality. His team of trained growers picks coffee only at peak ripeness, ensuring no under-ripe cherries make it through. Each batch undergoes meticulous processing, including 48-hour cherry fermentation in closed tanks and careful mucilage handling.
Dried on African beds in a parabolic drier, every lot is monitored for optimal moisture levels (10-10.5%) before being expertly roasted. Experience the rich flavors and sustainable practices of Mauricio’s passion project in every cup!
